Grief can feel all-consuming. Frightening. Paralyzing. Overwhelming.
If you’re in grief, you’re likely dreading the holiday season. The joyful families portrayed in TV commercials. The feeling of loneliness may be gnawing at you. You’d rather hide under the covers than face the next few months.
The holidays can be hard when life is grand. But when you’re grieving, it can feel downright unbearable.
This is why I created Graceful Grief.
Graceful Grief is an agnostic, secular (non-religious) structured program that focuses on understanding, processing and supporting those who are experiencing grief or loss.
Your grief may be a result of the passing of a loved one – or due to a major life change.
Grief also accompanies most life transitions including divorce, job loss or a major medical diagnosis.
Grief can feel isolating & lonely
Family dynamics can quickly change and people don’t know how to support people who are in grief.
You may feel misunderstood or unsupported.
It’s also common to feel like you don’t have time for these difficult emotions.
Midlife is typically busy – you’re at the top of your career, you likely also have a family anda never-ending to-do list.
While you’re at the top of your game professionally, you may lack the tools to understand the feelings that come along with grief.
You may feel like you just want to hide
It’s overwhelming, and it can be easy to think it’s better to numb your emotions.
Research suggests that we heal in community and by feeling and working through difficult emotions.
Connecting with others and gaining an understanding of what may be happening is priceless.
The Graceful Grief group is a space where you can receive emotional support as you journey through grief.
You’ll be supported in understanding what grief typically feels like, the complexities of grieving, and navigating changing family dynamics.
Graceful Grief is a space where you will feel heard and understood.
The program is designed to be a supportive addition to your busy life – offering opportunities to connect with others navigating grief, access to a Certified Professional Coach and Grief Educator.
How does it work?
Each week has a different theme.
Daily emails are sent to participants in all levels of the program with a short paragraph related to that theme, ending with a journal prompt. The first day of each week will also include a downloadable meditation related to the week’s theme.
Community and Coach supported levels offer additional support in a group or individual setting.
The program runs from November through January – so you’ll be supported during the end of the year and holiday seasons.
This time of year can be difficult for those experiencing grief and transitional change. The group and your coach’s guidance can be your anchor during this time. Knowing you have this support is priceless.
The group is secular, meaning it is not focused on any one religion or belief system. You are welcome regardless of your beliefs or background. You are encouraged to explore any spiritual beliefs, traditions and rituals that may best serve you, but it is not required.

Meet your Guide
Hello – I’m Desiree. I’ll be your guide through Graceful Grief. I created this program because I saw the need. I lost both of my parents during the Holiday season and found it nearly unbearable to be in grief during the holidays. I also remember my the Holiday seasons during my divorce and how lonely and isolated I felt. I felt called to create this program for those experiencing grief during this typically joyful time of year.
My life experience inspired me to become a Certified Professional Coach, Certified Grief Educator and Registered Yoga Teacher. I combine my professional trainings with real world experience to offer gentle support to clients who are working through their grief. It’s my honor to be part of your healing journey.
